Our goal and our philosophy 

In the centre of the prefecture of Messinia, 30 kilometres from Kalamata, at the foot of the mountain Ithomi in the picturesque village of Ancient Messina, a dream was fulfilled on 31/ 12 / 2015 after five years of hard work. With fresh ideas, love and care for this special place and its traditions, we have created a destination that offers an unforgettable experience to the visitors. Our seven rooms are decorated with stone, wood, marble, clay and original materials inspired by the traditional character of our land and culture of our region. We have created a “sanctuary” where the visitor will benefit from the power of nature and the aroma of the tradition. Each room has its own identity decorated and furnished in a unique way, so as many times as the visitor returns the experience retains a unique character.

We invite you to a guest house where the accommodation is not confined to the walls of the room but it extends to the inviting lounge with a fireplace and a relaxing yard. The Greek traditional breakfast, with products of the Messinian land complements the cosy character of our guest house. Breakfast is prepared daily in the open kitchen next to the lounge, especially for each guest, always using fresh, seasonal, local products.

  Our Name  

Our name is inspired by the history of our country, inspired by the queen Messina, in the Doric dialect Messana.

Messina was the Mythical Queen of the region, daughter of King Argos Triopas and wife of Laconian Polykaonos. She is attributed to have founded the temple of Zeus Ithomata and the sanctuary on top of the mountain as well as the establishment of Elefsineion Mysteries-worship in Andania. In those times the area held the name Ithomi. In the 10th century BC King Glaucus, son of Aipytou, deified Messina which was worshiped as one of the principal deities of the city and gave to it its name. A dedicated Temple with goldstone statue and painted images of the thirteen rulers of the past was referred by Pausanias in Asklepion. Messina was also pictured on the city currency.
